About me
What would it be like to feel less anxious? To be supported and helped to recover from difficult family or romantic relationships? What if you could develop healthy boundaries and improve your experiences with other people?
You may find the same patterns repeating and want support to change them or you may feel stuck and unsure how to move forward in your life in a healthier way.
You may need support with a major life event, decision or transitional stage - deciding to start a family, work problems or a change of career, children leaving home, divorce or retirement - or more day-to-day problems.
Perhaps your self-critical thoughts and low self-worth are impacting your well being, relationships and confidence?
I am a warm, friendly, non-judgemental, down-to-earth counsellor who will welcome you and challenge you gently, when it feels helpful.
I work with adults who are struggling with different aspects of their lives. I have a particular interest and experience in working with anxiety, childhood trauma and difficult mother-daughter relationships (please note I see individuals only).
My experience includes many years as an Anxiety UK-approved therapist, at Mind and Cambridge University. I also set up and ran a counselling service in a girls school for 7 years.
My qualifications include:
*Advanced diploma in humanistic integrative counselling (a professional qualification accredited by the BACP)
*Diploma in humanistic integrative counselling
*Certificate in humanistic integrative counselling
*A Postgraduate Certificate in Working with Children, Young People and Families from the Tavistock Centre
*EMDR (a specialist therapy for trauma) qualification (parts 1, 2 and 3)
*BSc degree in psychology.
I am an accredited member of the BACP and a certified Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Coach.
