About me
Sometimes people come to therapy with a clear sense of what's troubling themperhaps feelings of anxiety or depression, or a life transition that has been particularly difficult to navigate. Other times, there's a feeling of being stuck in familiar patterns, particularly in relationships, that seem to leave them unfulfilled. And sometimes, the reasons are less cleara vague sense that something isn't quite right, and an intuition that therapy might help bring some clarity or understanding. Whatever the reason, the process of exploring this with another person can offer insight into experiences and emotions that might otherwise remain just out of reach.
I am a Clinical Psychologist and Psychodynamic Psychotherapist with over 13 years of experience working in the NHS. I have worked with people facing a wide range of difficulties, including experiences of anxiety, depression, emotional and relational struggles, physical issues with an emotional component, and psychosis. I have particular expertise in supporting individuals in health and social care settings.
My approach is rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which understands current difficulties as being shaped by past experiences. Through our work together, we can begin to explore what lies beneath the surface, in the parts of ourselves that aren't always fully conscious. Often, it's these hidden dynamics that shape the ways we think, feel, and act in the present. By attending to both the past and the present, we may uncover patterns that offer new ways of understanding and relating to yourself and others.
I offer a free initial 20-minute phone consultation to give us a chance to reflect on what might be bringing you to therapy and to consider how we might work together.
I provide in-person therapy in a private and comfortable setting in East Dulwich.
