About me
I studied medicine at St John's College, Cambridge and have worked in London, Manchester and Melbourne, Australia. I was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist at Papworth Hospital in 2004. I specialise in the management of cardiac rhythm abnormalities. I perform catheter ablation of both standard and complex arrhythmias. I implant cardiac devices including pacemakers and implantable cardiac defibrillators. I have a particular interest in the management of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). I have published numerous scientific papers in this field and in 2004 was awarded an MD from Cambridge University. Papworth is the biggest cardiac department in the UK and in 2012 I was appointed Clinical Director of Cardiology. I continue in my role as Clinical Director and am chairing the steering group responsible for the clinical aspects of the move to the new Papworth Hospital in Cambridge.
