About me

I have been a Consultant Rheumatologist and General Physician at The Lister Hospital, Stevenage since July 2001 and at Pinehill Hospital since 2002.

My current practice includes General Rheumatology Clinic in addition to an Early Arthritis Clinic and a Multi-system Autoimmune Rheumatic Disease Clinic.

I manage my inflammatory arthritis patients according to NICE recommendations and all relevant patients have disease activity scores monitored to guide treatment escalation.

I trained at St. George's Hospital, Tooting and qualified in 1981. My Specialty training took place in the North East Thames area between 1996 and 2001. During that time i developed a particular interest in multi-system rheumatic disorders, such as systemic lupus erythematosus and vasculitis.

I have experience in a wide range of rheumatic disease and general medical problems.

I am involved closely in medical eduction at all levels and hold the position of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in affiliation with The Royal Free/UCL Medical School. I am the Training Programme Director for Rheumatology in the East of England and an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians.
