About me
I specialise purely in hip surgery, from the soft tissue and impingement problems of the sporty patient, through osteoarthritis in all age groups, to revision and redo surgery. Having trained with Professor Learmonth and Professor Bannister, as the Lecturer in Orthopaedic Surgery, I undertook a Fellowship in Toronto, and was appointed as Specialist Hip Consultant in North Bristol in 2003, and also as a Specialist in Young Adult Hip Surgery in the BRI in 2008.
I am currently the Chair of the Intercollegiate Examinations Board for the UK, and oversee the assessment of all Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeons approaching their Certification and completion of training. I have previously been Chair of the Postgraduate Schools of Surgery, and was also Head of the School of Surgery in Severn, and as such I was responsible for the training of the majority of Surgeons in the Southwest of England.
