About me
I am a fully trained consultant cardiologist with over 15 years of clinical experience. My subspecialty interest is coronary artery disease and complex coronary intervention.
I completed my medical studies at Cairo University, graduating in 2005. Following my medical degree, I pursued extensive postgraduate training in cardiology, earning both my MSc and MD degrees, further solidifying my expertise in the cardiovascular field. I currently practice as a consultant cardiologist at the Great Western Hospital, where I provide care to patients with complex heart conditions. Additionally, I provide out-of-hours emergency acute heart attack services at the Bristol Heart Institute.
I am a consultant member of the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS). In recognition of my clinical skills and contributions to cardiology, I was honored as a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) in 2023, a distinction awarded to those demonstrating excellence in clinical practice and patient care. I am also a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention (FSCAI), awarded in 2018 for my significant contributions to coronary intervention and angioplasty.
In addition to managing patients with general cardiac conditions such as arrhythmia, heart failure, hypertension, and valvular heart disease, I specialize in performing complex coronary interventions, including angioplasty, stent placement, intracoronary imaging, and physiology assessment.
Throughout my career, I have earned a reputation for a patient-centered approach, combining technical expertise with compassionate care. I believe in empowering patients with knowledge about their conditions and treatment options, ensuring they actively participate in their healthcare journey. My focus on personalized, evidence-based treatment has earned me the trust and respect of both patients and colleagues.
While coronary intervention remains my primary focus, my research contributions extend across various aspects of cardiology, reflecting my expertise in general cardiology. My MSc research focused on coronary artery disease and diabetes, while my Doctorate research explored valvular heart disease and indications for anticoagulation. I regularly participate in international cardiology conferences and contribute significantly by presenting complex cases and innovative management strategies.
