About me
I am a clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience of working in the NHS and private practice with individuals, couples and groups. I work collaboratively, integrating various models. The models I use are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Systemic and Narrative therapy.
I take a trauma informed and neuro-affirmative approach. I also actively address the impact of differences and intersectional identities on relationships and wellbeing. My clinical work is framed within Existentialism and a Person Centric approach. I draw upon spirituality, learnings from Eastern traditions (such as Buddhism and Taoism), and holistic practices when they resonate with the client's world view. Research shows that the most helpful part of therapy is the relationship, not a specific model. So I focus on our energy exchange and relationship, to cultivate a meaningful space where we can work flexibly with your needs and preferences to address your reasons for coming into therapy.
I provide a space that is warm and curious. I am non-judgemental and compassionate, so you can feel safe to be authentically you. From there we can work together to improve awareness, reduce distress and meet your goals for therapy. It may be difficult coming into therapy, so in our first session the aim is to get to know one another, understand your reasons for being in therapy, and see if I feel like a good fit for you.
I have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, body image, relationship struggles, family strain, shame, low self-esteem, self-criticism, trauma, and life transitions. My special interest and expertise is in gender, sexuality, relationship diversity, ADHD, and Equity Diversity and Inclusion. I am passionate about working with queer communities (including LGBTQIA+, gender diversity, and non-monogamy) and marginalised groups to address sexuality, relationship and identity difficulties while maximising overall wellbeing and pleasure.
I grew up in New Delhi and moved to the UK at 17 to study, and then chose to settle here in London. I completed my training at the Institute of Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience, King's College London, which focused on CBT and Systemic Therapy. My research has been on CFT. I am registered with the HCPC.
