About me

I am a consultant urological surgeon, appointed in 2005. I have a busy general NHS practice with a special interest in kidney surgery.
I am an examiner in the final urology examination for trainees on their way to consultant practice.
I am former secretary to the Scottish Urology Society.
I am able to give an opinion on a wide variety of urological complaints an symptoms. Most problems can be treated at Ross Hall, though I have a circle of professional colleagues both in the UK and overseas who if necessary can help with specialist treatment unavailable locally.

Areas of interest

Renal cancer; Prostate disease including prostate cancer and benign enlargement; Urological oncology; Bladder syndromes; Minimal access / invasive surgery; cystoscopy; TURP; Stone disease (NOT PCNL); Vasectomy (local and general anaesthetic) and vasectomy reversal (though not sperm cryopreservation or epidymo-vasostomy); investigation of Haematuria (blood in urine); Laparoscopic procedures ('keyhole surgery'); circumcision; hydrocele surgery; epididymal cyst surgery; overactive bladder and botox treatment to bladder; I do not offer surgical treatment for Peyronie's disease, stress incontinence or stones within the kidney, though can offer an opinion regarding these.
