About me
Consultant Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist caring for adults aged 17+ in Milton Keynes.
I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist with over a decade of experience, providing clear answers, sensible plans and high-quality endoscopy. I listen carefully, explain options in plain language and coordinate your care from the first appointment through to any tests or treatment, so you aren't passed from one clinic to another.
I look after the full range of gut and liver problems, from indigestion, reflux, bloating and irritable bowel syndrome to anaemia, rectal bleeding and changes in bowel habit. I also assess and manage abnormal liver tests, fatty liver (NAFLD), hepatitis and complications of liver disease, with practical guidance on medication, monitoring and lifestyle.
I provide gastroscopy and colonoscopy when these are the right tests for symptoms such as reflux, indigestion, anaemia, bowel habit change or bleeding. When a focused lower-bowel assessment is better, I offer flexible sigmoidoscopy. For more complex questions, I use Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) to examine the pancreas, bile ducts and deeper layers of the gut and take tissue samples when needed. I also perform ERCP to treat bile duct and pancreatic duct problems, place endoscopic stents to relieve blockages, and remove larger or pre-cancerous polyps using Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) so many people can avoid surgery.
My specialist area is pancreatic and biliary (HPB) disease. I established the Endoscopic Ultrasound service at Milton Keynes University Hospital and continue to lead improvements in advanced endoscopy across the region. The benefit is quicker, joined-up decisions when pancreatic or bile duct problems are suspected.
Teaching and training are part of my practice. As an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Buckingham, I train future gastroenterologists in advanced procedures including EUS and ERCP. This helps keep my own practice current and outcome-focused.
I see NHS patients at Milton Keynes University Hospital. For private care I see patients at The Saxon Clinic in Milton Keynes and at a Harmony Digestive and Liver Wellness clinic in Central Milton Keynes.
I am a member of the Royal College of Physicians, the British Society of Gastroenterology and the UK and Ireland EUS society.
Insured and self-pay patients are welcome.
When you choose to see me, you can expect a thoughtful assessment, a clear explanation of what's going on and a plan that fits your needs, with tests or treatment only when they are genuinely useful.
