About me

Taking the decision to embark on therapy can be daunting and anxiety provoking. Choosing to face our problems or fears, understand past and present experiences or to make a change takes courage. I am here to help you with that. I appreciate that mental health and well-being is just as important as our physical health and the two are connected.

I strive to provide a warm and non-judgemental space for my clients to talk, believing the relationship and connection between therapist and client is fundamental to client self-exploration and personal growth. I work collaboratively with each client so I can tailor my approach, this is important, as we are all unique. Offering a safe and confidential space for the expression and understanding of feelings.

As an integrative trained therapist I may also use techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for exploring thoughts and behaviour, Behavioural Activation for depression, or Mindfulness to help focus on the present. I work in a client-centred way, encouraging feedback to help guide any treatment suggestions I make. My aim is to support each client to reconnect and develop the confidence to be the expert in their own life.

My experience spans working within universities, a private specialist disordered eating clinic, working short-term with NHS patients in Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services in London and Kent. One area of focus was working with cancer patients and their carers, having spent 10 years with Paul's Cancer Support Centre. I have also developed my own private practice.

Areas of interest

I work with adults above 18 years old; I have specific experience working with disordered eating and eating disorders including weight management; special interest is in helping those with cancer diagnosis and adjusting to life after diagnosis and treatment; have considerable experience supporting students with their mental health.
