About me

I have been a counsellor/psychotherapist for over 15 years, working in agencies and private practice. I have also been a counselling academic where I have taught counselling and well as conducting research into my specialist area of working with abuse whilst working at a number of universities in the UK. I bring a calm presence to my work with clients, as well as empathy, a sense of humour, encouragement to you to bring whatever it is you need to bring, and gentle challenge when it seems appropriate. As we talk about what is troubling you, I will offer comments, insight, sometimes theory if that might seem to be helpful, to help us to understand together what might be going for you and how it has affected you, enabling you to make any changes you want to your life.

My specialism is working with people who have experience domestic abuse / domestic violence, either as an adult or as child within an abusive household; adults (18+); employment issues; bereavement; bullying; loss; anxiety; depression
