About me
Dr Stephanie Wai is a Clinical Child Psychologist and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Stephanie has extensive experience in the treatment and assessment of anxiety, depression, and trauma in children. She completed specialized training at the Kalmanovitz Child Development Center, California Pacific Medical Center, where she provided assessment and therapeutic support to children with neurodevelopmental conditions, such as autism spectrum disorders, attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorders, learning differences, and motor disorders (Tourette syndrome and tics). Stephanie works from the belief that every child and family can thrive if given the right tools. Stephanie's approach is based on attachment and family systems theory, and her interventions are primarily rooted in cognitive behavioural therapy. Stephanie believes change occurs when children/adolescents and family members are given new coping skills. Stephanie incorporates cultural humility at all levels of the assessment and treatment process. Past supervisors and clients have described her style as warm, compassionate, interactive, and non-judgmental.
