About me
If you are struggling to cope, or your thought patterns, moods or behaviours are interfering with your everyday life, then it may be the right time to seek support. My approach to therapy is that we should think of getting help for our mental health just as we would our physical health; if we experience physical pain we contact the GP, but if we experience mental pain we tend to suffer in silence. But mental health is hugely important for wellbeing and living productively; just having the dedicated space to understand your challenges and work through them can be hugely beneficial. It's often felt that seeking help is a sign of weakness or only for the severely distressed, but many people lead busy, chaotic, stressful lives and just having the space to process this can be transformative. Therapy helps you to understand yourself, your world and your challenges with greater awareness, and can arm you with coping strategies and tools to manage these challenges.
I work with each individual in a unique way, but always encourage deep, exploratory conversations to really help you gain clarity over your thoughts, feelings and emotions. These discussions can reveal what might be holding you back or keeping you stuck in repeating patterns and behaviours that you're finding unhelpful. My training as a therapist and coach allows me to integrate a number of tools to help you understand, process and develop new skills. I have trained in approaches such as person centred therapy, CBT, coaching, transactional analysis and solution focused therapy, meaning I can tailor my approach according to your needs. Common areas I work with are: low mood, anxiety, relationship issues, difficult family dynamics, low confidence, grief, understanding emotions and increasing resilience, managing stress, people pleasing, perfectionism, imposter syndrome and many more.
