About me

Dr Shyra Raj is an experienced doctor having worked in the NHS for 25 years and has
worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation
Trust since 2008.

Dr Raj is experienced in diagnosing and managing a spectrum of rheumatological conditions
from early diagnosis of inflammatory arthritis and their long-term management, conditions
such as gout and non-inflammatory musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoarthritis, soft tissue disorders, chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and osteoporosis.

As part of her interest in managing inflammatory arthritis, she completed extensive training
in musculoskeletal ultrasound at Postgraduate Certificate (PgC) level. She helped establish
the ultrasound clinic within her rheumatology department at Haywood Hospital (Stoke on
Trent) to help with the early detection of joint inflammation in inflammatory arthritis
patients as well as monitor. Dr Shyra Raj has access to an ultrasound machine
