About me
Mrs Matey is a vastly experienced Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon who completed her medical education at the Autonoma University in Madrid, Spain. She has been a Consultant at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust since 2001, working within one of the region's busiest breast units. The service diagnoses more than 300 new breast cancers each year and performs over 100 major breast reconstruction procedures annually, including both mastectomy and breast?conserving surgery.
As the Lead for Breast Reconstruction, Mrs Matey is dedicated to delivering exceptional surgical outcomes and personalised care for every patient. She maintains strong professional links with University Hospital Birmingham Plastic Surgeons and works closely with National Oncoplastic Trainees across both centres. This collaborative approach supports high?quality training and helps prepare the next generation of consultants in oncoplastic breast surgery."
