About me

PTSD and Complex PTSD develop as responses to traumatic experiences, often deeply rooted in relational wounds where safety and trust were compromised. These responses are closely tied to shifts in nervous system states, such as hypervigilance, shutdown, or avoidance, which shape our interactions and relationships. For neurodivergent individuals, these challenges can be even harder. A sensitive nervous system can make trauma feel more overwhelming, and being misunderstood by others often adds to the emotional pain. That's why it's so important to have a space where the connection between trauma and neurodivergence is understood.

Experience and Expertise:

I work through the NHS and independently with both neurotypical and neurodivergent adult clients (18+). I specialize in working with primary and secondary symptoms of trauma, which include anxiety, depression, social anxiety, and chronic conditions as well as PTSD and complex PTSD stemming from single or multiple adverse experiences, for example childhood / attachment trauma, medical trauma, birth trauma, social trauma (exclusion, bullying, discrimination), emotional neglect, or abuse.

I am a neurodivergent, bilingual BABCP accredited practitioner with 9 years of experience. I have specialized training in Compassion-Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, CBT, CPT, Mindfulness, and somatic approaches, which I integrate into my practice.

Approach:

PTSD and complex PTSD develop as responses to traumatic experiences, often deeply rooted in relational wounds where safety and trust were compromised. These responses are closely tied to shifts in nervous system states, such as hypervigilance, shutdown, or avoidance, which shape our interactions and relationships.

Many of my clients navigate the intersection of autism, ADHD, and trauma, addressing challenges like sensory overwhelm, burnout, masking, self-criticism, identity struggles, social anxiety, relationship difficulties, and the impact of bullying, rejection, or discrimination. My trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming approach supports healing and building self-acceptance.

Sessions:

We will examine how your past experiences impact your current thinking patterns, emotional states, and behaviours, including the effects of trauma on your body and mind. By developing practical emotional regulation strategies, you can work toward building stronger connections, improving resilience, and enhancing your overall well-being in a grounded and supportive way.

If you are looking for a well-trained and experienced neurodivergent therapist, please feel free to get in touch.
