About me
Hello, I'm Dr Jen Guthrie, HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist and Cognitive Analytic Therapy Practitioner. I have 14 years experience working as a Psychologist and Clinical Supervisor within the NHS. I work with adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties such as trauma, anxiety, low mood, relational problems, and emotion regulation difficulties. In addition, I work with adults with learning disabilities, Autism and ADHD, and with parents of children with special educational needs and disabilities. I have a special interest in parenting and understanding neurodiversity, as well as intergenerational trauma.
I primarily offer Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) which aims to understand problematic repeating patterns in life and relationships. I can integrate other models and tailor therapy to meet your individual needs by drawing upon my training in Structured Clinical Management (SCM), Family Therapy, and Trauma Informed Stabilisation Treatment.
With a warm and approachable presence, I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable enough to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I will work alongside you in order to develop the skills and understanding which will aim to change the difficulties you may be facing in life.
