About me

I am a BABCP fully accredited psychotherapist with 22 years experience working in mental health. I have worked with people from all walks of life from every corner of the globe and continue to better my understanding of people with a wide array of problems. I have worked with young people with psychosis, older people with dementia, adults with addictions, eating disorders and trauma. I have worked with children who have cancer in Guatemala, forensic psychiatric wards in Nottingham and community homeless teams in Brighton. My current job working with NHS patients in primary care focuses on people who have depression and anxiety disorders, however, my special interests are in Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Low Self Esteem. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement, Desensitising and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help people make sense of difficult childhoods and past events as well as current difficulties. The goal of therapy therefore, is to make sense of the past and work through current day to day problems so that people can enjoy life once again.
