About me
Dr Janine Watts Clinical Psychologist
B.Sc. (Jt.Hons) ClinPsyD CPsychol
I am a Chartered, HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist with over a decade's experience working in the NHS and overseas (New Zealand). I now work exclusively in independent practice.
I have specialised in working with adults with psychological problems and physical health conditions and hold a special interest in anxiety and depression.
I'm passionate about supporting people as they adjust to challenges including physical health conditions, stressful life changes and navigating loss. I have extensive experience working with carers.
Deeply compassionate, I'm particularly skilled in forming therapeutic relationships. Providing a safe space for clients to explore their current needs, I enjoy supporting people to learn new coping strategies - enabling the future to be embraced. I'm passionate about helping my clients to live a meaningful life aligned with their values.
I work in an integrative way, drawing upon a range of psychological models and theories, enabling a holistic approach to therapy which is responsive to individual needs and evidence based. My work is informed by principles drawn from psychodynamic, systemic, cognitive behavioural and acceptance and commitment therapy. I use a biopsychosocial framework to help formulate client's difficulties and co-create solutions.
