About me

Emily is an HCPC Registered Psychologist with over 12 years of experience in the public sector. Alongside her private practice, she works as a Senior Forensic Psychologist within secure settings. Emily has extensive expertise in supporting people through periods of significant distress and delivering evidence-based therapies tailored to diverse needs.

Emily understands that life's challenges can feel overwhelming, often triggering distressing emotions, thoughts, or behaviours that seem disconnected from personal goals. Emily is committed to working collaboratively with individuals to explore their current challenges and develop strategies for reducing psychological distress. She fosters a compassionate, safe, non-judgmental, and supportive therapeutic space.

Qualified in EMDR therapy, a highly effective approach for addressing trauma and emotional distress, Emily also incorporates methods such as Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Her integrative, person-centred approach ensures therapy plans are tailored to each individual's unique needs. Recognising that therapeutic terminology can sometimes feel unclear or intimidating, Emily prioritises empowering people with knowledge and understanding throughout their therapeutic journey.

Emily has a particular passion for perinatal care, supporting people through the profound changes associated with pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. This includes working with those navigating pregnancy loss, pregnancy after loss, traumatic births, a fear of childbirth (tokophobia), or the challenges of adjusting to life as a new parent. Her empathetic and informed approach helps individuals face these significant life transitions with resilience and hope.
