About me
I pride myself on being a dedicated, down to earth professional offering support to individuals and couples. When I qualified as a Person Centred Counsellor from the University of Salford in 2008 it was just the beginning. Since then I have gained extensive experience working in NHS psychological therapy/mental health services and charity organisations.
These days the majority of my private practice is facilitated via video or telephone sessions from the comfort of your own home. Most clients seem to prefer being able to sit in their favourite spot at home with a warm drink, not only does this avoid travel issues it enables me to provide sessions far and wide. However, if your personal preference is for a face to face appointment I'm more than happy to offer those too.
I offer a supportive non-judgmental environment to help you to navigate your feelings and thoughts. Often people will say I have no idea how or where to begin which is quite normal, especially if you're feeling overwhelmed. Working together to develop self-awareness, increase your insight and gain coping strategies can go a long way towards helping to work through your issues.
The first step is often the most difficult, whether it be making the initial telephone call, text message, or sending an email, but if you do contact me we can begin to understand your current needs. Rest assured, I don't put people under pressure to discuss anything they don't wish to disclose or feel uncomfortable talking about working at your own pace, in your own time usually works best all round. Personal development gained by engaging in therapy can be empowering with a renewed sense of perspective and well-being.
