About me
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), BPS (British Psychological Society) and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I am an honest, caring and compassionate psychologist. I have over 9 years of experience working in mental health, which includes 4+ years of experience in the NHS. I have worked with people of all ages in different settings, which include NHS secondary and tertiary care, a mental health charity for young people, a charity for the homeless and a sexual health centre for young people.
I have over 14 years of safeguarding experience with children, adolescents and adults. I have liaised with domestic violence services and charities and have experience in working with multi-agencies, such as MARAC (Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference). I have worked with drug and alcohol addiction services, within inpatient psychiatric wards, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and older adult services.
I offer individual psychological therapy to young people and adults who are looking for a professional to explore their difficulties with. Mental health affects all of us at some point in our lives. The last few years have been particularly challenging. Many of us have been affected in multiple ways by the covid pandemic and we may need some external support to manage feelings of stress, loneliness and isolation, panic and worry, and feeling low. I now offer walk and talk therapy, which can be by the river or in Old Deer park.
I offer a warm and safe to space to explore what brings you to therapy and can work with you to find coping strategies to manage how you are feeling. My therapeutic style is to be engaging, honest, non-judgemental and compassionate. I believe that the relationship between the client and therapist is the most important aspect of the therapy.
