About me

I am an NHS Consultant in Hepatology and Gastroenterology specialising in investigating and treating patients with primary liver disease. I deal with a range of liver conditions including abnormal liver tests, autoimmune liver disease, alcohol related liver disease, non-alcohol fatty liver disease and decompensated cirrhosis. As I have worked at the Liver Transplant Unit at Addenbrookes, I have extensive links with their liver specialist unit and their multidisciplinary meetings. My area of interest is alcohol related liver disease and work closely in health promotion with alcohol recovery services in the Chelmsford area.
Other than liver disease, I investigate and manage general gastroenterology conditions. To aid this, I am fully certified in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy with over 1600 lifetime colonoscopies and over 3000 gastroscopies procedures.
I also investigate patients with possible pancreatic or hepatobiliary cancers and am the hepatobiliary cancer lead at Broomfield hospital (Mid and South Essex Foundation Trust).
Beyond clinical work, I am active in clinical research, and I have 18 publications and 223 citations in the field of hepatology and gastroenterology.
