About me

I have been working in mental health for over 30 years. During that time, I've worked within a wide variety of areas but for the last 17 years I have specialised in complex trauma and PTSD.

I offer flexible online sessions and I am trained and experienced in all evidence based trauma treatments. These include TF-CBT (Trauma Focused CBT) , EMDR ( Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), NET(Narrative Exposure Therapy) and CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) .I also use techniques from modalities including Trauma Focused ACT( Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), DBT ( Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) and Mindfulness. I work a great deal with guilt and shame which frequently present within the trauma experiences although the person suffering will often feel unable to talk about these and so tend to suffer in silence.

For the past 12 years I have been using compassion focused therapy as part of my work and I often find that the relationship with ourself is key to how we understand our trauma and being able to move forward in our life in the way that we all deserve to.

In an increasingly demanding and stressful world, self care is pushed to the lowest of our priorities and seen as less important that other demands on our time. I will help you to reconsider this view and your right to a peaceful and happy life.

Agreeing to work with a therapist can be a scary decision and it's important that you feel able to trust and connect with your therapist. I am very happy to meet beforehand free of charge so you can decide if you feel you can work with me.
