About me

Mr Janardhan Rao is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip surgery, knee surgery, joint replacement, sports knee injuries, and joint reconstruction. He is known for delivering evidence based, patient centred care with a focus on restoring mobility, reducing pain, and improving long term quality of life.

Mr Rao was the Chair of the Top Orthopaedic Examination both Nationally and Internationally. He helps run the Singapore, Hong Kong and African Examinations. He has been given the honour of being the Elected the President of the Chester and North Wales Medical Society. Mr Rao is an Honorary Lecturer for the University's of Chester and Liverpool

Mr Rao began his medical training at the University of St Andrews, graduating with Honours in Bachelor of Science, before completing his surgical education at the University of Manchester (Victoria University).

He undertook specialist Orthopaedic Surgery training on the Cambridge Programme at Addenbrooke's Hospital, gaining further experience at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. His international training includes a prestigious Orthopaedic Fellowship in Colorado, USA, followed by a global Travelling Fellowship with placements in Australia and China, where he expanded his expertise in advanced joint preservation and reconstruction techniques.
