About me
Dr. Panicos Shangaris is a highly skilled consultant with over 18 years of experience. He specialises in all aspects of fetal medicine, high-risk pregnancy, prenatal diagnosis, and preconception counselling.
In addition to providing private maternity care and specialised ultrasounds, Dr. Shangaris holds the position of Maternal and Fetal Medicine Consultant at King's College Hospital (KCH) and serves as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at King's College London.
Dr. Shangaris graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2005 and undertook higher specialist training in London at esteemed institutions such as University College London (UCL), the Royal Free London, and North Middlesex Hospitals. He earned a Master's degree and a PhD in Fetal Medicine and Prenatal Genetics from UCL. He then completed his subspecialty training in Maternal and Fetal Medicine at St Thomas' Hospital and KCH.
Dr. Shangaris remains actively engaged in maternal and fetal medicine research, leading numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. His passion for research is evident in all aspects of his clinical work, where he aims to achieve the best clinical outcomes for his patients based on the latest medical evidence from around the globe.
Dr Shangaris is available for consultations, both in person and virtually, as well as ultrasound scans and maternity bookings for private delivery at The Portland Hospital in central London.
Dr Shangaris is a father himself, and this insight is reflected through the well-informed and supportive care he provides his patients throughout their journey.
