About me

Mr Singh?Ranger qualified as a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon in 1991 and is internationally recognised as a key opinion leader in the diagnosis and treatment of venous disease.
He has extensive experience in the full range of modern, minimally invasive varicose vein treatments, including endovenous laser therapy (EVLT) and radiofrequency ablation (VNUS Closure). He treats over 600 patients each year with varicose veins, thread veins, and complex venous conditions.
All patients are offered a comprehensive, consultant?led assessment with on?site duplex ultrasound scanning during a single appointment. This one?stop approach allows accurate diagnosis, clear explanation of findings, and personalised treatment planning, while avoiding unnecessary additional visits or delays.
Care is delivered in a regulated clinical environment, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, evidence?based practice, and clear communication throughout the treatment pathway.

Mr Singh‑Ranger holds an NHS consultant post at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon. He is actively involved in the teaching of vein surgery nationally and internationally and regularly lectures on modern venous treatments in the UK and overseas. He is invited to contribute to the evaluation and introduction of emerging vein technologies and has recently provided specialist training in local‑anaesthetic vein therapies to doctors in major centres across Europe, India and Saudi Arabia.

Research interests

Mr Singh‑Ranger has extensive experience in ocal anaesthetic vein and general surgery. He specialises in minimally invasive vein therapies using laser and radiofrequency techniques and performed one of the earliest VNUS Closure procedures in March 2007, now an established treatment for varicose veins. The vast majority of his patients undergo vein treatment under local anaesthetic, allowing safe, effective care with rapid recovery.

Personal interests

Outside his clinical work, Mr Singh‑Ranger has a strong interest in technology and enjoys working with computers, including system maintenance and repair. He has a long‑standing appreciation of ceramic art and local history and enjoys practical projects such as DIY and home decorating. He also has a keen interest in cars and maintains an active lifestyle as a regular runner.
