About me
Hello. My name is Carl and I am a BACP accredited psychotherapist with over 25 years experience of working with people experiencing mental health problems.
I facilitate remote sessions only via telephone or zoom/teams so available to work with anyone across the UK. Working remotely can have the added bonus of fitting sessions around family, your job, no parking problems etc. I offer a free initial consultation to give you the opportunity to ask any questions and get an idea if you think I could be the right therapist for you.
I have considerable experience in the educational sector (secondary school counselling, colleges and universities) and supporting people with workplace problems/helping them in their workplace or getting back into work. I have considerable experience working with males/females, non-binary clients, neurodivergent clients, LGBTQ clients and clients from all over the world from various cultural backgrounds. I have considerable experience, skills and knowledge helping to keep people safe who may be struggling with suicidal ideation or self-harm.
I am a humanistic therapist and believe in you, I believe you have the tools to be happy and successful in your life and with the right support I believe you can achieve whatever it is you want to achieve. I use an integrative approach in sessions, using what theoretical model I think may be beneficial. This could be a solely person-centered approach or an approach using CBT, mindfulness, solution focused therapy, TA or a mixture if different theoretical approaches.
Sessions will be in a confidential, safe and non-judgmental space, a space to explore the difficulties you are currently experiencing. difficulties that are often impacting on your family life, your relationships, your employment, your studies, your confidence and self-esteem..
I am experienced in offering short-term sessions or working over a longer period.
Are your problems about the unspoken past difficulties? Are they about your present problems or concerns about the future? Do you think your past problems may be impacting on how you live today? Are you lonely, stressed, anxious, struggling to sleep, eat, lacking in motivation? These are just some of the things that often come up in sessions and can be talked about openly and honestly in a safe and friendly environment.
I am very passionate about helping others, clients who may feel lost, misunderstood, not listened to, frightened, confused etc and really want the sessions to help you feel heard, understood, safe and help you move more into the person you want to be, living the life you want to have.
