About me

I am an experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with ten years' experience of working with individuals (18+) in private practice and within charitable organisations.

My clients seek support with a variety of issues including stress, anxiety and depression; bereavement, grief and loss; trauma and abuse; relationship and parenting difficulties; infertility; midlife; illness; and end of life.

My approach takes into account past experience and relationships and how these may impact on the present, as well as an understanding that difficult feelings can be repressed by our conscious minds when they are too painful for us to process. These buried or unconscious feelings, however, can still drive our behaviour, leading to a sense we are not really in control of our lives or are caught-up in repeated patterns of unhelpful behaviour.
Drawing on this foundation enables clients to develop greater self-awareness, a crucial part of successful therapy. By making sense of feelings and experiences, clients have the opportunity to improve their mental health and move forwards feeling happier, stronger and better able to cope.

Areas of interest

I work with individuals (18+) providing an integrative approach to talk therapy that draws on psychodynamic and person-centred modalities.
