About me
I am a specialist cataract surgeon . I have over 23 years experience as a Consultant and perform over 1500 cataract operations for the last year in adults. My published complication rates are extremely low and I maintain extremely high standards of care.
Areas of interest
Microincision Cataract surgery; multifocal and toric lenses; I performed 1000 cataract procedures this last year in adults. I specialise in offering a customised approach to each patient, which includes a discussion about the best type of lens suitable for each person. Some people have astigmatism in their glasses, which is can be corrected with special implants which replace the cataract, called a toric lens implant. Some people are happy with distance vision without spectacles and wear reading glasses, and others wish to have implants which give a full range of focussing inside the eye, a bit like varifocal glasses. These implants are called trifocal or extended depth of focus lens implants.
