About me

He is a consultant plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, with expertise in

With early training in general and vascular surgery, and an academic background, Vimal proceeded to train on the highly competitive London Rotation in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. He has worked in some of the world's most renowned units, including Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, The McIndoe Cosmetic Clinic, St Thomas' Hospital, Evelina London Children's Hospital, and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He completed a fellowship in Microsurgical Reconstruction at Imperial, and further training in supermicrosurgery and lymphoedema surgery in Hiroshima, Japan.
He was past president of The Association of Surgeons in Training, and has sat on the Council of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is a consulting editor for the acclaimed journal, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Global Open, and has written over 50 academic papers, and a number of book chapters. Vimal has given multiple talks at national and international meetings, and is involved in teaching and training across the board. As a member of the Educational Program Committee of The American Society of Plastic Surgery, Vimal helps to conceive the program for the largest plastic surgery meeting in the world.
Vimal hosts the Giants in Plastic Surgery Podcast series which has been adopted by an international journal, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Global Open.
