About me
I was appointed to my Consultant post in March in 2004 after completing my fellowship,
I am a highly experienced specialist with a very large Hip and Knee practice based at the internationally renowned Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Shropshire. I regularly treat patients from other areas of the Midlands and all other parts of England and Wales.
General
I have performed in excess of 5000 joint replacement procedures and am a strong advocate of the National Joint Register for the long-term assessment of implants and patient outcomes.
I use tried and tested joint replacements and will advise you of the options available in your case including newer technologies if appropriate.
The Hip
I treat adult patients of all ages for painful conditions affecting the hip. I perform in excess of 200 primary hip replacement procedures per year including many surgically complex cases.
The Knee
I see adult patients of all ages following knee injury, with knee pain or torn cartilages which often respond well to keyhole surgical techniques when non-operative means are exhausted.
I perform 160-180 knee replacement procedures per year. I utilise implants recognised to have established excellent functional results and survivorship.
I am happy to assess your joints and advise you regarding the safest and best option, surgical or otherwise.
Revision (Redo) Joint Replacement
I see patients for the assessment of the painful joint replacement and have a large revision experience for the management of replacements at the end of their working life or for other problems including infection.
I specialise in techniques that maintain and restore native bone rather than bypassing it in order to improve outcomes now and not to jeopardise any future options.
