About me

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over ten years experience and I work with young people and adults through their trauma and I specialize in short term psychodynamic psychotherapy. I help the client navigate and overcome such complex issues as childhood trauma (sexual and emotional), low self esteem and chronic depression. I firmly believe that present day symptoms symbolize past events that for whatever reason could not be processed at the time. With care and forming a therapeutic alliance, the aim of therapy is to explore the unconscious, unlock the meaning behind the symptom, so that the client can develop a deeper understanding and be free to move beyond the dis-ease or negative self-belief into self-agency and a deeper understanding of self. In therapy, relationships will be explored: how the client related to others in the past will be compared to how the client relates to the therapist in the present and above all how the individual relates to self. The ultimate aim of therapy is to understand and explore the mind.
