About me

PERINATAL SPECIALIST

Hello, I'm Jess; human first and psychologist second. I understand that the perinatal period (from pre-conception to the early years) can be beautiful, messy, and incredibly tough sometimes, and I strongly believe that none of us should have to go through it alone. I'm here to help you navigate those times and find your own path forward.

I draw on gold-standard evidence-based therapies aligned to matrescence (the transition to motherhood), perinatal mental health and trauma, parent-infant bonding, and early childhood development. I draw on a range of therapies, so sessions will be very much tailored to your individual needs.

My approach is about creating a space where you can feel heard and safe to be yourselfwhere we can explore what's getting in the way of the life you want for you and your baby, and take practical steps toward change.

I tend to find in my work with others, and from my own lived experience, that difficulties are so often rooted in our relationship with ourselves. I believe that the most lasting growth comes when we can meet ourselves with compassion, and helping people to do this is one of the things that gets me up in the morning.

I am also guided by values from liberation psychology, which means I strive to recognise the bigger social and cultural influences that shape our lives and celebrate the beautiful uniqueness in each of us.

I hope that gives a sense of the person behind the page. You're the expert on your own life, and I'm here to support you as you reconnect with your strengths and discover new ways to move forward. If you're ready to take that first step, I'd be honoured to walk with you.
