About me
I am the Director of Cancer Services at Addenbrooke’s Hospital
I trained in medicine at Magdalene College Cambridge and St Thomas’s Hospital, London. I then undertook postgraduate training in medical oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London and the Institute of Cancer Research, where I was awarded the Sir Lionel Whitby medal from the University of Cambridge for his postgraduate (MD) research with Professor David Cunningham and Professor Ann Jackman.
I moved back to Cambridge to take up a post as a consultant medical oncologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in 2003, becoming head of the clinical department in 2010. My specialist interests include colorectal cancer, oesophageal cancer and gastric cancer, as well as the investigation and management of carcinoma of unknown primary site, and I continue to be an active researcher in the field of gastrointestinal cancer. I am principal investigator in a number of trials of novel therapies in this area.
