About me

I am an Orthopaedic Consultant with a specialist interest in upper limb surgery currently working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Having graduated from Edinburgh Medical School with a BSc in Sports Medicine in 2006 and medical degree in 2008, I completed my foundation medical training in NHS Lothian before being appointed to the West of Scotland Trauma and Orthopaedics training programme in 2011. Throughout my training I gained an interest in upper limb and sports injuries, tailoring my training towards these pathologies. Furthermore, I was team doctor for Kilmarnock Football Club from 2014-2016.

On completion of my training I undertook fellowships in Shoulder Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty surgery at the prestigious Universitatsklinik Balgrist in Zurich, Switzerland under the mentorship of World renowned Professor Christian Gerber; and in the Australian Orthopaedic Association Shoulder Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty surgery under the mentorship or Assoc Professor Kenneth Cutbush and Assoc Professor Ashish Gupta in Brisbane, Australia.

I was appointed a Consultant in Clyde in 2021 and have a specialist interest in Shoulder, Elbow and upper limb surgery. Currently, I am Trauma Lead for Clyde Orthopaedics and am a member of the British Elbow and Shoulder Society. Throughout my training I have had an interest in research and am an author on over 25 peer reviewed Orthopaedics publications; and have presented at a number of International conferences.

My main areas of interest and expertise are in managing shoulder and elbow conditions, with a particular interest in shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty. Furthermore, I manage other hand and wrist conditions.
