About me
Mr Alistair Scott Parker
Consultant Hip and Knee Surgeon
Mr Alistair Scott Parker is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in hip and knee surgery, with over 20 years of clinical experience and a high-volume practice performing more than 300 procedures each year. He is recognised for his expertise in both primary and complex revision joint replacement, as well as being one of the leading providers of same-day (day-case) hip and knee replacement surgery in the South of England.
Mr Parker combines advanced surgical techniques with modern, evidence-based enhanced recovery pathways, enabling patients to recover more quickly, mobilise earlier, and return to normal daily activities with confidence. His approach is centred on delivering efficient, high-quality care without compromising safety or outcomes.
A key strength of Mr Parker's practice is his personalised approach to treatment. He takes time to understand each patient's individual goals, lifestyle, and expectations, carefully selecting the most appropriate surgical technique and implant to achieve the best possible long-term result. He is particularly experienced in managing complex cases, including revision joint replacements and patients with previous surgery or underlying health considerations.
Mr Parker is also highly regarded for his clear communication and supportive manner, ensuring patients feel informed, reassured, and fully involved in their treatment journey from consultation through to recovery.

He previously served as an NHS Consultant in South West England from 2016 to 2023, where he was part of a high-volume service managing both routine and complex joint replacement cases. He now practises at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Southampton, continuing to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care.
Mr Parker has received multiple national awards for his academic work, reflecting his commitment to clinical excellence and ongoing development within orthopaedic surgery.
A particular focus of his practice is enhanced recovery after joint replacement. For suitable patients, he offers same-day joint replacement supported by a structured and carefully managed recovery pathway.
He also has a specialist interest in orthopaedic infection prevention and management, particularly periprosthetic joint infection. This expertise is especially valuable for patients undergoing revision surgery or those with more complex medical histories.
