About me

Mr Alvaro Bedoya-Ronga is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust with Lead for the BSGE accredited Midlands Metropolitan Endometriosis Centre, and Lead for Gynaecological Ultrasound Scan.

He has led multiple service improvement projects at SWBH, with the most relevant being the modernisation of the Laparoscopic surgical equipment, the introduction of specialist Endometriosis USS and the creation of the endometriosis services.

Areas of interest

Endometriosis including medical and surgical management. (Lead for Midlands Metropolitan Endometriosis Centre BSGE accredited);
Minimally invasive surgery with focus on complex benign gynaecological surgery and endometriosis;
Gynaecological Ultrasound Scan, with focus on pelvic pain and endometriosis assessment (Lead);
General Gynaecology including;
menstrual problems;
contraception;
vaginal and vulvar problems like discharge and itching;
fibroids;
polycystic ovaries;
ovarian cysts.

Hysteroscopy (diagnostic and therapeutic); Endometrial ablation;

Laparoscopy (Diagnostic, sterilisation, removal of tubes and ovaries;
