About me
Mr Paul Stanciu is a specialist gynaecological surgeon with a broad international experience gained in some of the best hospitals across Europe. Currently, he works both in the NHS and Private Practice. He specialises in Robotic Surgery and Ultra-radical Cancer Surgery.
Mr Stanciu has a PhD in Gynaecological Oncology and is an ESGO accredited sub-specialist in Gynaecological Oncology. He is a certified Minimal Invasive Gynaecological Surgeon (GESEA) and he has been awarded the Robotic Training Certificate by the Society of European Robotic Gynaecological Surgery (SERGS). Mr Stanciu holds the International Ovarian Tumour Analysis (IOTA) Certificate in Ultrasonography for pelvic masses. His interests range from diagnosis to treatment of complex ovarian masses.
Mr Stanciu is the first surgeon with double SERGS accreditation for both da Vinci and Versius robots. His NHS work is based in West Herts NHS Trust where he is performing some of the most advanced robotic surgeries. For that reason, Watford General became a referral centre for robotics, hosting visiting surgeons from around the world.
At the Wellington Hospital, Mr Stanciu offers the latest, most advanced treatments for women with gynaecological problems such as pelvic pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, deep infiltrative endometriosis (DIE), fibroid uterus, ovarian cysts and all types of gynaecological cancers. His approach centres on patient choice, tailoring care to each individual with a personalised treatment plan.
Mr Stanciu has established a "One Stop Gynaecology" service in his outpatient clinic so you will have your full assessment, pelvic ultrasound scan and blood tests on the same day followed by a personalised care plan.
Mr Stanciu is caring and very passionate about his work. He has been a teacher and a mentor to many gynaecological surgeons who are now leading gynaecological centres both in the UK and abroad.
Mr Stanciu speaks regularly at national and international conferences on topics related to Robotic Surgery and Gynaecological Cancers. He is a preceptor and a speaker for CMR Surgical and travels internationally to teach other robotic surgeons.
