About us
I am an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist with over 20 years of experience treating over 100,00 patients in different areas of healthcare, sports clubs and private organisations and skills working in elderly care, paediatrics, musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy. My extended scope practice has included working in occupational health, sports injury clinics, pain management and orthopaedic services. My patients include those from all walks of life who need expert guidance to return to full sporting performance or work as well as those with complex medical conditions who require expert input and supported management strategies. I have a degree in Physiotherapy, a Masters degree in Health and Social Care, PGCERT in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, a Diploma from the Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine and a Certificate from Keele University in Soft tissue and peripheral joint injection. I also have additional qualifications in personal training and gym instruction, as well as ongoing continuous professional development courses, seminar and conference attendance to ensure that my practice is evidence based and effective. I have worked closely over the years with a variety of consultants including spinal, upper limb, lower limb, pain management and occupational health consultants, academic lecturers and researchers.
I specialise in complex orthopaedic disorders and occupational health. My diagnostic skills include being able to complete comprehensive neuromusculoskeletal assessments and diagnoses. I am very experienced in requesting and interpret Xrays, MRI scans, blood tests, ultrasound scans in relation to trauma and orthopaedic conditions. I deliver patient centred and holistic interventions including acupuncture, massage, exercise prescription, expert advice, electrotherapy, spinal manipulations, jaw and other joint mobilisation and other hands on therapy. I have an understanding of the importance of holistic healthcare whilst treating people as unique individuals. I am an attentive listener, paying special attention to individuals treatment goals and how it affects their life and that of the people around them. My specialist training in physiotherapy, orthopaedics, massage therapy and occupational health has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to get the best results possible for my patients. Within my roles as practice educator and Lecturing at University on both Undergraduate and postgraduate Occupational Therapy, Sports Therapy and Physiotherapy courses, I share best practice and mentor some the future healthcare workforce.
