About me

I am an HCPC-registered Chartered Clinical Psychologist specialising in supporting people living with chronic health conditions, chronic stress, burnout, and trauma.

Having been on my own recovery journey from ME/CFS and Long Covid since 2020, I know first-hand how debilitating and isolating life with a chronic health condition can be. I also know how helpful the latest evidence-based psychotherapies and neuroscience can be towards healing and improving quality of life.

I understand that the idea of working with a Clinical Psychologist to help your recover from and/or manage a physical health condition might seem a little odd, initially. However, I am trained at doctoral level to understand health difficulties as being shaped by a combination of biological, psychological and social factors.

In our work together, we can draw on the most effective evidence-based psychotherapies to help you build a better life, even in the presence of health difficulties. These therapies include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), somatic psychotherapies, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as the latest neuroscience research.

On our journey together, we may explore your ways of meeting the world, which could be getting in the way of your vitality. These commonly include patterns such as self-sacrificing, people-pleasing, hyper-responsibility, relentless striving and perfectionism.

We can also use trauma-focused psychotherapy to help your mind and body to process adverse experiences or traumas. This can help recovery by allowing your nervous system to shift out of an energy-draining threat mode into a rejuvenating rest and restore mode.

Most importantly, we will work collaboratively to focus on what feels most important to you, at a pace that works for you.
