About me

Dr Negar Maghsoodi is a Consultant Chemical Pathologist and Lipid Specialist offering both private face-to-face and virtual consultations. She works full-time within University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust and sees private patients in London at Welbeck Hospital as well as in Worthing at Southlands Hospital. She also runs NHS lipid clinics at Dorking Healthcare Outpatient Department, where patients are seen following GP referral.

She specialises in lipid disorders, including hypercholesterolaemia and familial hypercholesterolaemia, metabolic syndrome, menopause-related lipid disturbances, and mild to moderate obesity. She has extensive expertise in cardiovascular risk assessment and provides advice on advanced investigations such as carotid artery ultrasound, coronary CT angiography, and coronary calcium scoring. Her clinical practice includes the full spectrum of lipid-lowering therapies, ranging from statins to newer injectable treatments such as PCSK9 inhibitors and inclisiran, as well as oral and injectable weight-management therapies, including GLP-1 analogues.

Dr Maghsoodi completed her higher specialist training in Chemical Pathology through the South East London rotation, working across Guy's and St Thomas', King's College Hospital, and Epsom and St Helier hospitals. She holds an MSc in Clinical Biochemistry from University College London.
