About me
Dr Negar Maghsoodi is a consultant chemical pathologist and lipid specialist based in Surrey and Sussex, offering private face-to-face and virtual consultations. She specialises in lipid disorders, including hypercholesterolaemia and familial hypercholesterolaemia, metabolic syndrome, menopause-related lipid disorders and mild to moderate obesity. She has extensive expertise in cardiovascular risk assessment and advises on investigations such as carotid artery ultrasound, coronary CT and calcium scoring. Her clinical practice includes the full range of lipid-lowering therapies, from statins to newer injectable treatments including PCSK9 inhibitors and inclisiran, as well as oral and injectable weight-management therapies, including GLP-1 analogues.
Dr Maghsoodi completed higher specialist training in chemical pathology on the South East London rotation at Guy's and St Thomas', King's College Hospital, and Epsom and St Helier, and holds an MSc in Clinical Biochemistry from UCL. She is a visiting senior lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, has held regional leadership roles within the Royal College of Pathologists, and is actively involved in clinical research with publications in peer-reviewed journals.
