About me
Mr Quen Tang is a renowned fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with specialist expertise in treating conditions of the shoulder and elbow.
He undertook surgical training on the prestigious Northwest Thames (Imperial) rotation which has provided extensive experience working across a range of hospitals including one of the busiest central London Major Trauma Centres. On completion of training, he was entered onto the specialist register in 2020.
Mr Tang then completed further sub-specialty fellowship training from world renowned Cambridge University Hospitals Trust gaining expertise in complex tertiary elbow trauma and advanced arthroscopic (keyhole) techniques. Mr Tang was then appointed as a consultant shoulder and elbow surgeon at Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2021. Throughout his career he developed a robust understanding of key orthopaedic principles which is integral to high quality care and successful outcomes.
Training orthopaedic surgeons of the future has always been a passion. The educational content he created is used internationally by orthopaedic surgeons preparing for consultant exams.
He holds professional memberships of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the British Elbow & Shoulder Society. He is committed to professional development and is widely published in his sub-specialty field.
Throughout his career, Mr Tang has always been true to his philosophy of patient-centred care. His excellent communication skills allow him to build natural rapport with his patients and ensure he can offer treatments tailored to their specific goals.
Mr Tang explores both non-operative and operative interventions to aim for optimal functional outcomes.
