About me
I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and worked as a CBT therapist in an NHS talking therapies service for eight years. Prior to this I worked for twenty years, in a variety of mental health settings, as a State Registered Occupational Therapist (O.T.). I therefore have a broad experience and understanding of working with clients experiencing a wide variety of challenges.
I like the opportunity CBT provides to understand and explore what is impacting on the way we feel. How the way we feel can make total sense in the context of the situation we are in, and how this understanding can allow us to be kinder to ourselves. This understanding can also enable us to consider what changes are possible, and what changes might be helpful to make.
Throughout treatment we will work collaboratively to develop an understanding of the difficulties that you are experiencing, regularly reviewing the helpfulness of the change strategies that are being considered and employed.
