About me
Ken graduated from medical school in 1990. He then spent the next 12 years in general surgical training, followed by plastic surgery training. While principally based in Scotland, he also undertook periods of specialist plastic surgery training in Sydney, Toronto and California.
Ken has been on the GMC specialist register in plastic surgery since 2002. He is a full member of BAAPS, BAPRAS, EURAPS and ISAR, and has recently become the first surgeon in Scotland to be Royal College of Surgeons certified in cosmetic surgery.
He is often invited to lecture at prestigous surgical societies both in the UK (BAPRAS, ENT UK, BOAMS, BOPS) and abroad in China, India, Ireland, Switzerland and Poland. He has also, by invitation, performed live demonstration surgery overseas in Poland, Oman, India and this year Vietnam.
Ken is a training programme director for plastic surgery in Scotland and an honorary senior lecturer at Edinburgh University as well as an NHS consultant surgeon at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children and St Johns. In the NHS he undertakes complex reconstructive surgery of the face, ear and body.
