About me

Dr James Burgess works for Bupa as an MSK Physician.

Graduated from Peninsula Medical School in 2009. Worked in New Zealand and USA gaining useful experience in hospital and emergency medicine. On return to the UK completed MRCP and spent a few years working in hospital medicine. Completed his GP training in Southampton whilst developing an interest in sport and exercise medicine. Completing PgDip in Sport and Exercise medicine(SEM)

Moved to Birmingham and completed specialist training in SEM in 2023.
Has worked in professional football, university sports. Was a doctor for Team GB at the World University Games in 2019 and provided medical cover at the Commonwealth Games in 2022.

Outside of work is a very keen runner and skiier.
