About me

Psychological Support for Visionaries, Leaders, and Legacy Families:

Raisa started her professional life as a Social Worker in the Netherlands before training as a Chartered Psychologist in the UK. She holds a DPsych in counselling psychology from the University of East London and an MPhil in psychology and education from the University of Cambridge. She has worked in both Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Community Mental Health Teams for the NHS, as well as in third-sector organisations and private practice. Raisa sees children, teens, adults and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.

She is well-versed in psychological interventions for anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, adjustment disorders, school refusal, relationship difficulties, grief and loss. An integrative practitioner, she uses psychodynamic, attachment-based and traditional cognitive behavioural models alongside third-wave approaches such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy. Raisa's approach is trauma-informed and she is currently in the process of completing EMDR training.

Raisa has a strong research background, with published work on issues such as racial and ethnic identity, the black mental health experience, forced migration experiences, trauma and culture. She has authored peer-reviewed articles on war trauma as well as intergenerational trauma, about which she has spoken at various conferences over the years.

Warm and compassionate in her approach, Raisa is unwavering in her commitment to personal growth - helping all her clients young and old to understand and cope with their struggles by developing skills and insight into their experience. Raisa is bi-lingual in Dutch and English.
