About me

Dr Valentina Buscemi is a Physiotherapist specialised in the management of chronic or persistent musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain conditions (longer that 3 months).
She uses a body-mind approach where she combines physical, functional and cognitive-behavioural approaches to help her patients improve their pain, functionality and quality of life.

BIO
Dr Buscemi qualified as a Physiotherapist in Italy in 2006, and is also a Chartered Physiotherapist in the UK. She has extensive experience in musculoskeletal as well as neurological conditions. She has been always deeply passionate about understanding the science behind chronic pain and fatigue and their recovery processes. She earned a PhD in Australia in 2019, and her studies focused on neuroplasticity, stress and low back pain. Then, she worked as a Specialist Physiotherapist at the Pain Management Unit of Guy's and St Thomas NHS Hospital of London, where she worked as a Pain Physiotherapist. She is also a Lecturer at the University of Genova where she teaches the Neuroscience of Pain at a Master level for Italian Physiotherapists.
