About me
Sarah is a chartered clinical psychologist and has worked in mental health services since 2007, qualifying with a doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Birmingham in 2020. She is passionate about early intervention and enjoy working with infants, children and young people. She specialises in women's health and mental health; this includes perinatal work focusing on issues like conception, fertility journey, pregnancy, birth planning and postnatal mental health as well as parent-infant bonding. She has experience of working with a range of difficulties including mood disorders, OCD, psychosis, trauma, selective mutism, perfectionism, self-criticism and neurodivergence. She works with school-aged children, adults and parents with infants.
Sarah takes a compassion-focused approach to her work and provides a safe space for people to be heard, understood and make sense of their difficulties. Building rapport and a therapeutic relationship is really important to Sarah and she will always ensure the best outcome for her clients. She uses evidence based treatments such as: EMDR, CBT, CFT, trauma-focused CBT, integrative work or counselling. For parent-infant work, Sarah may include attachment interventions. She also undertakes birth preparation work such as anxiety management for labour, trauma-informed birth plans and postnatal mental health.
