About me

I am an Accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and registered with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapist (BABCP). This accreditation confirms that I have studied, understood and can demonstrate a knowledge and skill base to the 'gold standard' in CBT interventions and strategies. My portfolio is kept up to date for re-accreditation and achieved in part by attending conferences, training courses, special interest groups, seminars and being a member of the Committee for the Manchester Branch of the BABCP. My current and past roles in the NHS since 1998 working within an Enhanced IAPT Service at Step 3.5 (formerly Primary Care) and Secondary Care Mental Health Services give me a wide experience of differing complexities of presentations and interventions.

My career within the NHS began in 1998 when I joined a Community Mental Health Team whose client group were Step 4 and tertiary mental health needs.

I moved into Psychological Therapies in 2004. Since that time, I have striven to add to and continually improve my knowledge, skills and competencies through academic avenues, and practical and experiential opportunities which together add to the expertise of being a competent psychotherapist. My special interest is Bipolar Disorder/Relapse Prevention. I work with a variety of presentations such as Trauma, Depression and Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation and a wide range of anxiety Disorders. I work on a one-to-one basis and have delivered group therapy.
